NPGR: Uses for old single socks?

DH and I did a little cleaning and I finally sat with my basket of single socks to match up what I could. We are left, I swear, with at least 60 single unmatched socks (this bin has been building up for years!). I feel bad throwing them away--does anyone have any suggestions for uses of old socks?

I'd use them in my classroom to clean off the white boards. Kids love them and can put their markers inside!

The same thing happens to us! I usually throw them in a drawer until there are no hopes left of finding the match. Then I toss them out. Sorry I am no help!

As soon as I throw them out I find their mates! UGH So I usually just hold on to them and will wear them with boots (nobody will know you're wearing mismatched socks).

I use them to dust the fans in the house. I put the sock over my hand and then I can grip the edges easily to get the dust bunnies off of them without them falling all over the place.
