Everyday I see posts asking all sorts of questions.
Is there anyone else out there except me that doesn't know theirs?
I could look up my dpo, was told the heartbeat number (but don't recall) and could ask about the others, but I figure as long as the dr is happy with the numbers I am ok. If there is an issue I'd ask more questions
Anybody else who doesn't know?
Re: Does anybody else not know...
The two bullet points I bolded are not typically checked in normal pregnancies. Many women may get their betas checked if, say, they had prior m/c's, or is having a threatened m/c, or had medical intervention (i.e. Clomid) in order to get PG, to name a few.
We were TTC so I was tracking... I could look up my DPO if I needed it. It definitely isn't something I could spurt out when asked though.
I totally understand knowing these numbers if you have IF or previous losses. It just seemed to me that the majority of people knew and I didn't.
Thanks for explaining about Betas.. that was something I still hadn't figured out.
I will hear the heartbeat in a few weeks and then will know that.
The only way you could know your DPO is if you were charting. If you weren't charting then you wouldn't be able to know DPO because even if you had a typical 28 day cycle you may not have ovulated on day 14. Many women on the bump that are TTC chart which then means that they know their O date and a pretty accurate due date.
""No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."
"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you... ever in the world." ~ Nancy Tillman
I don't know the answers to any of these right now. Lol But then, I haven't even had my first OB appointment yet (this Friday though!!
)
As long as the doctor can tell me the baby is healthy and growing, I think I'll be ok
)
I don't know my HCG/Beta numbers, but that's because I have never had a m/c nor have I conceived with IUI or IVF... most docs don't check those numbers unless there is a reason.
But yes, I know when I ovulated, and what dpo I had my BFP(s). We were TTC both times and I charted both times.
I know what the HB is after each appointment, etc..
i dont know all of those things. I think i know my dpo becaue we charting and using ovulation kits.
i had my betas done three times when i got a positive but that was like 6 weeks ago.
i dont know the heartbeat just that it was strong
I only know my dpo because I was charting, and I was only charting because of my miscarriage.
I know my HCG because I run the test at the lab, but even if I didn't, I would still have asked.
I only know the heartrate from my 7w appt, none of the others thus far.
Hcg and betas are the same thing.
I like to know so that if something goes wrong, or may go wrong, I have a chance at knowing in advance. Sometimes Dr.'s are overly optimistic or pessimistic, and I would rather make my own assessment if possible.
