Stroller for Grandma's house

My mom would like to get a stroller for their house so we don't have to travel with ours and asked me for recommendation and so I turn to you for a rec. we have the city mini for home which is great but want something cheaper for their house. I'm looking for something under $100 but that will be sturdy, reliable and comfortable. Any recommendations?

  • My mother got this one:

My MIL has this one I think:

I know they aren't under $100, but they are close.  Both of the strollers will be used quite a bit over the next few years though, so I guess it depends on how much use you will really get out of it based on how much you visit.

  • I just got a first years jet for my mom and really like it. I was impressed for how cheap it was!

  • I would find the brand you want and then look on Craigslist. I got a gently used Joovy double stroller for $40 recently. I am only going to be using it for shopping so I didn't care that it was used.

  • We have the Baby Trend Expedition and LOVE it. It's really easy to maneuver, super sturdy, and DS hasn't complained about it not being comfortable... I like that the wheels/frame are good metal and I've beat the crap out of it getting it in and out of the back of my truck and it's really held up. And the tires are real tires! Not cheapy plastic ones.

We bought ours at Baby Depot with a 20% off coupon for $79 (I have a stack of coupons for there expiring next month if you have a Baby Depot near and are interested PM me). I've seen them for $89-$99 at Target though in different colors.

I love it, DH loves it, and my mom has kept it for the day with DS and she liked it. For a cheaper option I highly recommend!

  • I have the Joovey Groove and it's awesome, basically a glorified umbrella stroller. I don't even use my huge Britax anymore. It looks nice, easy to push, reclines, has a big sun canopy and is really easy to open/close.

  • Awesome - thanks so much for the recs! I sent the links to my mom to choose!

  • We used at $15 umbrella stroller while we visited home. It worked just fine for as much as we needed it (even for neighborhood walks).
