So I posted last week (or something like that) about DD not wanting milk from a sippy. Well she warmed up to milk as long as I mix it with OJ. So now I'm on to the next hang-up (first it was no bottles, then refusing milk from a sippy, now she doesn't get straw cups). What can I do to help her figure out a straw? I tried using my finger to cover one end and put the other end in her mouth. She closes her mouth and sucks the water out but when I give her the straw, she gets mad and throws the cup on the floor. Any ideas??
FWIW - we have tried the Munchkin spill-proof straws and they are terribly hard to suck from (heh heh). I also tried the TnT straw cups (a hard straw) but that isn't working either.
Update: I bought a Playtex straw cup that you ladies recommended and it took one sip. ONE SIP. And she has it! She is a straw cup machine. I can't believe it. I don't know why I'm so excited about this, but I am :-D
Re: UPDATED...Thank you!! Help me get my LO to use a straw cup!
This is the one we started with and it worked in teaching her to use a straw -

This one is good - it's easier to sip out of than the Munckin one. You can squeeze the cup (though not easily) to squirt some into LO's mouth to help them get the hang of it. Once DS used this one to get the hang of the straw, we gave him the Munchkin straw cup back (as you said, much harder to sip) and he handles it like a pro now.

I use the Nuby straw cups. I don't get the one with the part that flips over to close up the straw, I get the one with the longer straw at the top. If that makes sense.
What I did was take the straw from the inside out, then I held the cup up so she could drink from it. Once she figured out the sucking, I put the inside straw back in and then she had no problems.
