I have the 1 hour glucose test in the morning, and the on-duty nurse at my OB's office never got back to me, so maybe you ladies might have an idea...
Is it okay to exercise before the test? I usually go for an hour walk/jog every morning, and I'm wondering if I should skip tomorrow morning, or if it will affect the test at all?
Probably a dumb question, but TIA!
Re: Probably a stupid question- 1hr glucose test related
yeah, working out is definitely not a problem.

working out beforehand will lower your blood sugar before you go into the test, but once you drink the glucola its a matter of how efficent your pancreas is at lowering the blood sugar, so thats why the previous workout doesn't matter.
There is some research to suggest that eating heavily before the test could potentially increase fails but the recommendation to "eat normally" is still ACOG recommendation so that the appointment can be scheduled at any time of the day regardless of diet.
That woman was given the glucola drink to take at home and she drank it, then did yardwork, then went to get her blood drawn. You're not supposed to engage in physical activity during the test, which is what she did.
you do everything normal before the 1 hr, including eating.
