I like the boy name a lot. Really dislike the girl name, mostly because nothing about it is remotely feminine to me. Sounds very masculine.
I thought so too, Monroe is my great grandparents last name so I love that, and Dh lived in london for two years so he wants to name a little girl that. I like Rosalie Lynn personally...
I also like Rosalie better, BUT I have a sister Rosalia, so I might be biased.
I work with a cop who has 5 kids and all of them are named after cities, one of them being London. I do think its cute, but it also reminds me of the girl on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The girl named London was so effing annoying. Well, everyone on that show was.
Great boy name! Monroe doesn't bother me as a mn and I like that it has family significance. London is one of my least favorite names...sounds pretentious to me.
Boys name is okay. London Monroe is really tacky. It sounds a lot like a name a teen mom would choose. No one will know Monroe is a family name so it just sounds like a child's idea of a glamorous name to me. To be very blunt.
I kind of agree with other posters i don't love london...but like another poster said as well i don't care for place names personally...
i do love rosalie monroe as an alternative though
that being said though its very exciting to have come up with the names! i just personally don't think you should settle if you don't love it unless it is one of those names that means ALOT and holds a lot of significance to your hubby and you can live with it with no regrets
either way yay for picking names!!
June 2009- Begin TTC
November 2011- Laparoscopy to check for endometriosis (normal) HSG to check for clear tubes -(Normal) and hysteroscopy to check uterus (normal)

A friend of mine from high school named her daughter Lundyn, same word, different spelling and definitely looks feminine. Just a thought in case your man is 100% stuck on the name. My niece's middle name is Monroe and I hadn't heard of it before (outside of a surname, clearly) my sister chose it.

Huge ugh. If you are going to with London, at least spell it correctly. Lundyn looks atrocious!

I kinda take offense to that statment. I mean i understand what you are tryin to get across but i think you need to word your statments, and metaphors differently. Its like saying because you are an older mom you are goin to go with names that are acient and out dated. Its just not fair to put someone in a category. I am a teen mom and am actually a mama that likes the traditional names as well as some trendy names. I didnt mean to start anything just stayin that i think you need to be more careful with the way you word things.
As for the name London Monroe i dont care for the name London. But love the significance that comes with Monroe and think that you should definitly keep it as a MN just find a different FN.

OP, your boy name is great. As for the girl name, I would compromise with your DH and do something like Rosalie Monroe or Rosalie London. London Monroe is very masculine - so much so that I would go back to the drawing board. You can save one of the names for later. You could totally use both of those for a boy or girl so if/when you have baby #2 you will have a middle name waiting .

Oh and please, under no circumstances should you take this advice, OP. DO NOT make up a spelling...FFS.

I dislike everything about the girl name. ETA: Okay seeing that Monroe is a family name makes me like that better, but I still like your girl name idea. I really don't like London.
I posted about London a week or so ago and got a lot of negative feedback. But I love it (and guess what... I am NOT a teen mom... to who ever wrote that).
London is our girl name too. Love it. : )

Thanks for all of the positive feedback and constructive criticism. I do think that whoever said London Monroe was a name a teen mom would choose was very offensive. I am definitely going to push for Rosalie and recently I like Anabel. Thoughts?

GREAT boy name!
Girl name is just too masculine for my style...but Rosalie is so pretty! I think you and the Hubs need to have a little chat.

Love the boys name, the girls name is 'eh' to me.
I love the idea of Rosalie Monroe! Swoon worthy in my book!
