I am conflicted on this issue. I love rocking and nursing DD to sleep each night. This is part of our routine and it works to get her to sleep so I thought why change it.... Until I read an article. The article discussed bottle mouth and advised that children who nurse to sleep once they have or start getting teeth can be at risk for tooth decay. DD doesn't not have any teeth yet but seems to be working on it. So last night we tried to change the routine. I nursed her before lotion and pajamas and then tried rocking alone. She got sleepy and started rooting. I tried the paci to no avail. Had DH give it a shot. He rocked, walked , patted, sang, gave paci, etc she ended up crying her first tears. After five minutes of her screaming, I couldn't take it. I nursed her and in two minutes she was out like a light. I refuse to let her cry like that but don't want to ruin her little teeth either. What can I do?

Re: Nursing sleep
I would continue to nurse her to sleep. Here's a link, I am not sure how to make it "clicky":
