thoughts on re-using

DS just moved out of his crib into his big boy bed!

We are going to use the same crib from DS1, but what do you think about reusing the mattress? It seems in good condition, and has a 10 yr warranty. DS1 used it for 2.5years.

Thoughts on this??

I'm reusing ours. DD used it for about 2 years and it's been sitting in our (finished) basement for about a year and a half by the time this baby comes. Unless there is a major defect in it when we bring it up we will reuse it.

I know there are a lot of websites and such that recommend that you don't use "used baby items" but I think these websites are generally talking about second-hand items. I think if it's your own item and you know it's condition and history then you're fine. No risk of bed bugs, germs, or unknown soil spots when it's coming from your own home! REUSE!

Absolutely reuse it! Assuming that it is in fine working order. I'm sure yours is the same, but ours has a plastic top layer. I just washed it really well and checked it for rips and what not. No sense in buying a new one when you already have a perfectly good one ready to go!
