BBT battery dying

Is this what your chart looked like when your battery was dying on your bbt? My Ovulation Chart. If so, should I switch mid-cycle? FWIW its a target up/up brand and I've never had it favor temps so much before.

When my battery died (at least that's what I think happened), my chart was flat.  It would give me the same temp every morning.  I switched in the middle of my cycle and my temps went back to their normal roller coaster ride.

My Target brand one (it was pink) gave me temps like that all the time, even from the beginning.  I decided in the middle of a cycle to get a new one, and then I temped with both the new one and the old one for the rest of that cycle so that I had both data, and then I stopped using the Target one the next cycle.  I didn't like my Target one b/c it didn't save the temp for more than a few seconds...is that the kind you have?

I really love my CVS brand one, if you are looking for a new one.  It is purple.  It saves the temp until you actually take another one, so I can go back and look at it later, etc.

Nope, my Target brand one (also pink) saves the temp until the next time you turn it on to take a new temp. It's always given me some flat temps, but never this many.

The thing is over 2 years old now (I got it when we were TTC DS back in 2010) so battery was the first thing that came to mind.
