My DS is normally well behaved and pretty easy but lately he's been nuts and crazy! I was wondering if children have that 'sense' of it nearing or if it's just my DS!
I'm 33 weeks
The closer I get to my due date, the more protective DD is of me. She wants to be with me all the time and if she feels like someone is picking on me she says "Hey! Stop picking on my mom! She's pregnant!" LOL. She is also protective of my belly and is always hugging/kissing it.
The closer I get the more defiant my normally very well behaved 5yo DD becomes. She had a 2 year old type tantrum at the playground yesterday because I told her she had to swing on the big girl swing I was not lifting her in and out of a baby swing. She is 5 and can pump her own legs and swing all by herself. Had a complete meltdown, this has happened more than once in the past few weeks. I think she is securing her spot as the 'baby' in her mind. We shall see it is going to be an adjustment for all of us. As a side note, my 7 yo DS, has shown no changes in behavior and is actually pretty indifferent to the whole thing.
Yes. My 2 1/2 year old has been a stinker for the last week or so. He goes back and forth between only wanting DH (for everything) and then sometimes wanting me. Hopefully it gets better before baby comes but we'll see!
DS has been out of sorts, but I think it is more related to the hot weather and being so busy lately. He is so tired and I just cannot get him to get enough sleep.
I'm 32 weeks and DS has definitely been harder to handle lately. He'll be 2 in August so it could just be the beginning of the 'terrible twos' but it's not fun.
He still doesn't get the whole baby thing so it'll be interesting to see how he acts once LO is here.
its funny you post this- as I never noticed it before- but my youngest (he is 4 YO) he is super clingy to me- which normally he is not. He rubs my belly- will kiss and hug me and sits with me all the time when I am around him. I too am 33 weeks (tomorrow)
Holy crap, yes! He is becoming more defiant and more difficult with bedtime. People keep telling me that he "senses" something. I don't know how he senses it. We've been telling him there is a baby in mommy's tummy and that he will soon have a brother or sister. But even if he senses that a baby is coming soon, why does that affect his behavior so much? He can't possibly understand (he just turned 2) that a new baby means less attention for him.
Re: STMs notice a differnce in children as you reach due date?
