I need some TMI information here. My LO has been refusing her bottles, and isn't very good at eating a lot of food yet. We think she is a little backed up so we're trying to get her to eat the P fruits, and we're avoiding typical binders like bananas, carbs, cheese, etc.
She is pooping...and it's soft....but it's formed..... Her poop is the size of a thumb. Once every 1-2 days, that is what we get.
Is your LO's poop bigger, smaller, more often, less often. I need details.
We took her to the pedi already and he is not concerned. But LO screams when she tries to poo and her eyes get all watery and her face gets red.
Any other ideas?
We are trying to do prune juice in a sippy but she's not very good with the sippy.
Re: Poop.
Thanks for your reply!!
I am finding that this is a downside of BLW. We never did purees with her, so she doesn't know what to do with them. I bought some of the p fruits in jars, but she just fingerpaints with them on her tray. I spread some on a piece of bread, but the amount of puree she was getting was negated by the bread. And ironically, even though we don't buy those pouches, I have that EXACT flavor at home (came in a monthly baby gift box subscription thing). I will see if she can figure that out.
My mom tried having her drink from a regular cup, and LO didn't "get" it. We have a straw cup that she is the *most* successful with....meaning she might get a sip or two from it.
She is BFing when I am at home so I feel ok that she's getting hydrated....the pedi looked for symptoms of dehydration and saw none, not even borderline. I used to BF twice per day during the week - 4pm and 8pm. Now, it's 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm, and once overnight (2-3am). And more on weekends.
I bought a canister of diced prunes that she's enjoying as well.
Thanks for helping me brainstorm. I just feel so bad for LO. Yesterday she was screaming in her crib, like little outbursts, I figured she wanted me to get her but it was napping time! Turned out....she was pooping. :-( I felt bad.
My DD was pooping those small ones once or twice a day, too. Then we ran out of puffs and she starting pooping two or three times a day. Never saw a connection before (and she didn't even eat that many!)
We do BLW too, but I've used pear pur?e to help her in that department, also.
