Testes Tuesday

I have a few...

1) DS had a random rough night on Sunday at woke up at 1230am, 3am and 5am. At the 3am wake-up I noticed DS and I were both sweating (he feel asleep on me) so I went into the living room where it tends to be cooler and feel asleep on the couch while DS was nursing on and off. At 630am DH wakes up and realizes that not me, DS nor the dog is in our bedroom. When he finds me and asks what Im doing. After I tell him DS sleep pattern for the night he says "why didnt you wake me?" Ummm...because I have one cranky baby to deal with, I dont need two!

2) DH informs me he doesnt like the ice cream I bought. So dont eat it then! OR volunteer to do the shopping yourself for a change!

3) DH complained that he didnt have clean undershirts in his drawer. I told him they were clean and folded, but I didnt have time to put them away so they were on the floor of the closet with the rest of our clean clothes. He says "so glad our room looks like a fraternity house." Really?! Effing put your clothes away yourself!

#2 & #3 happened before 8am this morning. Way to make me stabby before the day has even started, bro. IlovemyhusbandIlovemyhusbandIlovemyhusband...

Re: Testes Tuesday

  • Hi I'm normally a lurker here but I'd like to play if I may. DH stays home with DS during the day which is great. However I feel that since he is home all day that he can help out with cleaning and laundry. And he will but my problem is that I have to give him a very specific list of what needs done and if I don't, nothing gets done. Why the heck can't he look around and see that laundry needs to be done, the dishwasher unloaded, or the house needs vacuuming?? I don't understand why I have to give him a list!

  • My husband like most men cannot multitask. I can do many things at once: throw cloths in the laundry, start dinner, straighten up the kitchen, check my messages, you name it but he can only do 1 thing at a time its so frustrating! If I ask him to do something whatever he's doing at the moment is the only thing he can do.

DH also deals in specifics.  If I tell him something is on the table, he doesn't think to look around the table in case it fell off.  He also hates when I change up anything with cloth diapering, even if I bought a diaper that's easier to put on.  Once he learns a sequence, he doesn't want to learn a different way to do the same thing.

  • DH and I switch off with "Middle of the night feedings"...which is usually at like 6AM, hence the quotes. Anyway the other morning I nudged him to tell him DS was up (he could sleep through anything!) and he asked if I had made his bottle already (I usually make all of his bottles for the 24 hour period but I started making only 4 because DS slept longer a few mornings and the 5th bottle had surpassed the 24 hour period making it no good anymore) anyway! I hadn't and he was like uuugh why don't you make those anymore, I've had to make 2 bottles this week! I was like yeah well I've had to make like 40 bottles a week for the last 20 weeks!

I love my DH to death and he helps A LOT besides the bottles we're pretty 50/50 on all things DS related, but this made me mad!

  • Dh also wants a list...I a adding to my TT on this that apparantly that list needs to inlcude things like "rinse out the sink after you dump part of your smoothie in it". because when I flipped about the berrys tain in my sink this morning DH said "I didn't know they were there" (really, DH?  Because it looks like someone murdered a smurf) and "Just tell me if there is something you want me to do."  You know "Everybody Loves Raymond"?  Debra is always muttering "Idiot" after Ray does (or doesn't do) something...this has become my life...

The Morale of the story?  I posted a "To Do List" on the fridge that reads, simply, "Clean up after yourself".  And now (I hope) we are clear.  Men.

  • My husband keeps buying vehicles. He currently has 11 cars and 4 trucks. I have 1 car. We are really running out of space to store them. He claims that he is just "flipping" them, but is not doing well with the selling part. Very frustrating!
