2nd Trimester

Registering question?

When did you begin yours? Should I wait until we find out the sex first? TIA

Re: Registering question?

  • I began mine around 22 weeks...

  • I will probably start mine around 18 or 19 weeks. My family is throwing me a shower in Feb and I think that I will be around 22-23 weeks.
  • We started ours early because family wanted ideas for Christmas.

Oh--and for us, waiting until the big U/S doesn't matter because DH and I are keeping it a secret from everyone else!

  • I started mine this weekend.  I would wait until you know the sex of the baby, unless you're planning on not finding out.
  • I just starting setting ours up - I'm almost 22w.  You have plenty of time!
  • We'll be doing ours in January b/c I want to wait until after the holidays. So somewhere between 20 and 24 weeks.
  • I may start tomorrow. ?

  • Thanks ladies, that's a big sigh of relief. I figured everyone had it started earlier than me and I freaked a little. Good thing I asked, right :)
  • We started ours after we found out the sex. All of our big ticket items are neutral, but the clothes/blankets etc.... are boy colors. It was easier for us to wait so we did not have to go back and change items to more gender specific colors.

  • I started mine online...I put boy and girl stuff on there so I can take off the other when we find out....

  • We just did the other night. We wanted to wait until we knew her sex before registering.
  • I registered at about 19 weeks, I didn't wait to find out the sex.  We are keeping the sex a secret too, so finding out didn't matter.  We decided to do that because it seems like every baby shower I attend where the girl told what they were having ended up getting so many baby clothes in that gender color it was sad.  I'd rather have necesseties, like bottles, wipes, etc... than a bunch of newborn sized clothes the baby will grow out of in a week.

  • If you can, I would suggest starting your registry online.  There are plenty of things you can register for now before you know the sex (we haven't found out the sex, so that wasn't a factor for us).  However, the first time I went into Babies R Us with the intent of picking out stuff for our baby, I left feeling VERY overwhelmed and quite depressed.  I was very grateful that I had done a lot of it onine before going to the store.
  • We registered around 23 weeks at the store, but prior to that I had done a little researching online as to what I wanted to register for.

  • We started ours last Sunday when I was almost 22 weeks. We had our big us at 20 weeks and then I wanted to do research before we went to BRU.
