2 year old suddenly "angry"

My sweet DS has turned into an angy little boy the last few weeks.  The smallest thing will send him over the edge.  He's hitting and telling us no all the time.  We do time-outs consistently, but they don't seem to work.  He's transitioning rooms at daycare and having a hard time.  Do you think this change might be what caused it?  Has anyone else experiencde this?  How did you get though it?

Re: 2 year old suddenly "angry"

  • It's probably a combination of being 2 and a new environment. Are other kids from his class transitioning too? DS was a little fussy when he went to a new room but so many of the other kids were going too so that made it easier for him. We also noticed a change in DS around the 18-24mos mark. He became more defiant and was testing the boundaries. We just remained consistent with timeouts and explained to him each time why he was getting a timeout. He did get better but now that DD is here he's regressing again. I think it's the age and a phase they all go through.
