It was a huge trend when I was in high school to do this And they wondered why they switched to uniforms.
I plan to homeschool, so obviously I don't care if they wear pajamas.
BUT
If my kids went to regular school it would be an icy day in hades(or pajama day) when they went to school in pjs. Then again all but 1 school in my area is uniform only.

When I was in college, one of my professors actually called a girl at home and told her it was inappropriate to wear pj pants to class! To I agree, yes, do I think it needed a call to her house no!

I probably wouldn't let them wear actual pajamas (this is if they even go to school- if we still live here when DD is of school age, I will be homeschooling and she can wear whatever her little heart desires). High school is a whole other can of worms, I would probably be more inclined to let her in high school than elementary school. Like PP said, at least she wouldn't be dressed slutty!
Define PJs. I wore PJ pants and a sweatshirt all the time in HS (and college). I now wear yoga pants and sweatshirts often.
So, yes, I would let him. Probably not in elementary school. But, yes in Middle/High School. It is not a battle I choose to fight. I will also not tell him how to wear his hair.

It depends on what the style is then. When I was in HS (mid 90's), a standard outfit for girls was a shirt paired with plaid men's boxers.
As long as they are dressed properly for the weather, and not dressed like a slut, I don't really care that much.
Abd regarding phs in public (like at the store).... Um, I've worn phs in public many a time.

Pj pants? Meh whatever. Like a poster said it was all the style when I was in school.
Going out in public? To a nice dinner with the grandparents no way in hell. To the movies with friends or Target with me...meh whatever.
They'll learn eventually.
Like a pp I'm more worried they're not freezing or slutty.
