graco travel systems~ metrolite?

Based upon the website I am unable to tell if the carseat snaps onto the stroller. Dh's grandmother ordered it for us already, so I guess we'll know soon enough (Christmas present).  We were figuring we'd just get the snap and go, but yesterday one of my clients told me her friend has it and indeed the carseat snaps onto the stroller, but that it's just a lighter weight system, which is awesome.  BRU only had quattros in the store.

    Yes it still snaps in. Just a smaller/lighter stroller and probably a snugride carseat, not safeseat. Because the snugride is lighter then the safeseat.

    What is the difference between snugride and safeseat, besides weight?

    Yes the Gracos' snap. There is a also a latch that is on the stroller that you connect to the carseat once you snap it into place as added precaution. I had a Graco with daughter and I am about to get the Graco Quattro Tour system in Deco for our son! I LOVE it!!

    The safeseat is built for babies up to 30 lbs and the snug n ride is only 22 or something like that

    The safeseat will hold a child for a larger height and weight limit than the snugride. It is about 2 lbs heaver for that reason. I've read that the base is easier to install too...but I had the snugride with DD and never had a problem installing the base securely. It doesnt matter, if you plan on switching to a convertable car seat before a year old anyway. We put DD in a rear facing convertable at about 8 months old, and ditched the heavy infant carrier..we'll probably do the same this time around too. I just happened to get the safeseat because it comes in the pattern that I like. lol

    Of course it snaps in. Thats what makes it a travel system.

    Like the PP said.. its just a lighter stroller, and the lighter/smaller carseat.

    My BRU has several metrolites in the store.. The one is gray and a royal blue/purple color with circles..


    Oh and any metrolite stroller, even if you buy it separate works with the  Graco snugride carseat.. BRU sells them separate in a couple prints too.

    That said.. we are just getting the Snap N go. The metrolite is still too big for me.
