I read in an earlier post that you were taking Fenugreek. I just started EPing Friday since I started work today and am trying to increase my supply. I pump everytime the baby eats basically every 2 hrs and I'm only getting 2-3 oz at a time Since my baby eats 4oz every 2 hrs, this isn't going so well. I have also been waking up in the night to pump so I'm not missing out there. Anyway I picked up Fenugreek today and it says take 1-2 daily. I'm wondering if that is not enough, how many tablets did you take daily to help your supply? I would kill for that 14oz session you had! lol TIA

Hey! I just checked my pills - I was taking Lactation Blend Nursing Support pills from Whole Foods. It has a bunch of other herbs besides fenugreek. I looked at all the different kinds they had in the store and this one had the most concentrated amount of fenugreek in it. I took 2 pills a day, but only did it for 2 weeks max since my supply was steadily increasing.
Also, 14 oz is NOT a typical pump session for me, I was super engorged. I usually get 9-12 oz in the morning and 5-8 oz for every other pump. 2-3oz every 2 hours isn't bad, I pump every 3-4 hours. I think the typical amount of production is 1oz per breast per hour. It takes me about 30 min to empty my breasts, and I get a second letdown about 20 min in. If i stopped after 20 min, I wouldn't get nearly as much.
HTH!
