Baby's first cold. Help?

Any tips on dealing with congestion/mucus? I've been suctioning and using saline but it's making her nose bleed and I can't get it all. She doesn't have a fever but it's hard for her to eat and she's just miserable and cranky. I have an old humidifier but I don't think it's working. Any other tips or tricks are appreciated! Her ped won't see her unless she has a fever or the cold goes to her chest. Thanks!

This, on top of what you're already doing that basically it. At this age that can't take anything OTC besides Tylenol for a fever. I know it sucks when LO is sick. GL!

  • I think grace makes it. It's a battery operated nose sucker. We would drop saline in one nostril and suction out the other nostril.  It was 20 bucks at Walmart.

  • We ran the humidifier every night and we added a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the water to help with congestion

  • W used Pediacare Gentle Vapors at night which seemed to help. Two bad nights he slept in the RNP for elevation. Lots of steamy bathroom sessions and the nosefrieda. DS had his first cold for 6 miserable weeks.

6 weeks?! Aww man:/ she seems much better the past 2 days. Just kinda let it run it's course, and she sleeps in her RNP all the time still so that helped.
