I've been giving LO homemade baby foods so far, but for convenience when travelling I have a stock of jarred foods. I tried to give him some jarred bananas today and he was NOT having it! He closed his mouth when he saw the spoon coming and then blew into the food, sending it flying all over me. If I did manage to get some in his mouth he sprayed it all out. Nice. I might try a different type tomorrow, but I have a bad feeling about this working. Plus he seems to prefer his foods a little bit thick and chunky, not as runny and smooth as the jarred kind. He keeps it in his mouth better.
Any other babies not digging the factory stuff? And for those who don't, how do you go about with travel? We're going to a park on Wed. and I don't want to take a whole big cooler just for two little containers of food.
Re: already loves his mama's cookin' :)
Thermos has a brand called Foogo you can get at Target that has some great on the go containers for food.

My son likes the thicker consistency of homemade food too. I did try store bought baby food prunes the other day and he ate them with no problem, not sure how he would do on things he has already tried that I made though.
