I'm just curious what this is going to look like. DD is 9 months, and I would like the bottles gone by 12 months, so I'm starting to think about phasing them out and how that's going to work. She already has sippy cups with meals, but just for water for now. I tried putting her formula in a sippy over the weekend, and she wanted none of that.
Right now, her meal schedule looks like this:
We giver her a bottle around 7 am, before DH and I go to work.
At the babysitters during the day, they give her breakfast, lunch, and a bottle.
I give her dinner when we get home, around 5:30 or 6.
Bedtime bottle at around 7:30 or 8:00.
Re: meal schedule once bottles are gone?
We switched to whole milk before dropping bottles. DD1's schedule at 12 months was:
7AM bottle
9AM breakfast
12PM lunch
3PM bottle
5:30 dinner
7:30PM bottle
Just past 12 months we dropped the 3PM bottle and it became a snack.
At 13 months we dropped the 7AM bottle and it became breakfast, with a snack at 9AM.
At 14 months we dropped the 7:30PM bottle for a milk sippy and sometimes a small snack.
The schedule has stayed pretty much the same since 14 months now:
7AM breakfast
9/10AM snack
12PM lunch
3PM snack
5:30PM dinner
7:30PM milk and maybe snack

Yeah, no, I plan to keep giving her formula until 12 months, but I want to get rid of the bottles. Her three bottles a day right now total 22 oz of formula, and her pedi said to have her somewhere between 18-24 oz/day, but to try to get down to the lower end of that range (until this weekend, she was having 24 oz of formula/day in 4 bottles), and start incorporating more real food. I'm not rushing to get rid of bottles right now, but in the next three months, I want to work on phasing them out. She didn't want her formula in a sippy over the weekend, and I didn't push the issue, I just poured it in a bottle and moved on. I'm going to keep trying the formula in a sippy here and there for the next couple of months though, and expect that she'll get more used to it in time, just like how she slowly got better at feeding herself, and now prefers finger foods to purees. I get that it's all a process, which is why I'm starting to think about it now and planning to spend the next three months transitioning.
I like your schedule. I see this as something that would work for us. Thank you!

Me too. Mine is similar, but mine is resisting the sippy and finger foods. I'm about to try a 4th kind of sippy and hope she gets the hint soon. In the process of transitioning to 2% as recommended by my ped.
LO will be 1 year next week and we just transitioned to WCM and 100% sippys. We use the straw ones though, so I think it was an easier. He sometimes fusses in the evening when he is extra tired, but otherwise the transition was very easy. Our schedule:
6AM - Sippy with milk (sitting on the couch)
8AM - Breakfast w/ water
12 - Lunch w/ sippy of milk given about half way through
5 PM - Dinner
7 PM - Sippy of milk during story time before bed
