Apparently I'm not ready for real pants :(

So I've been feeling pretty good about my body since the baby.  I thought it was time to get a real pair of jeans since I've been wearing my maternity pants for the last three weeks.  Apparently I was wrong.  I picked out a pair two sizes bigger than my normal size and I thought they looked enormous.  Well, they were pretty snug once I got them on the fitting room LOL.  They were totally uncomfortable and made my new pooch in the front look like a muffin top.  Guess I'll be wearing maternity pants for the foreseeable future.

    Yesterday, I had DH sit through a mini fashion show of me in my old pants...not a one fit.  The skinner ones I couldn't get up my rump and my old fat jeans gave me a muffin top.  You are not alone!!

    You are brave, I am just now venturing to real pants at 2 months out... my hormones/ emotions are just now ready to admit we have a lot of work to do!

    Imagine my embarrassment when a "comfy" stretchy dress wouldn't fit over my boobs.. It was stretchy!!! :( oh well.

    Nope me either, no of my non-maternity pants will get over my hips/thighs.

    I held some up in the store today a size up from pre baby, and they looked huge so my friend told me to get my normal size...I am thinking I need the bigger size...haven't tried them on yet.  I tried a pair of jean shorts on and was afraid to button them b/c of my incision.  Maybe in a week or 2.

    I did e same thing about two weeks ago... I didn't think I was that much bigger, so I pulled out all of my old clothes.  But upon trying on my biggest pair of shorts and buggiest jeans, I realize I have a ways to go.  I can't even pull them past my hips to wear with my Bella band.  I was really surprised,  and I've been wearing dresses and yoga pants since.  I figured if I can make it through the summer and still need to buy new pants, I can do so in the fall.

    Don't feel bad.  I tried on a pair of my old jeans today because they didn't look that small to me.  I got one leg in and thought wow, they are going to fit - just as I put my other leg in and realized I couldn't get them up past my knees.

    Real pants are overrated!

    I feel you.  I jumped the gun and have been trying on my pre-pregnancy pants and they totally don't fit.  What a downer.  Guess I need to go shopping for a few pairs for work until my others ones fit again!

    I did the same thing..about a week or so ago it was pretty warm out for us (I live in the Seattle area so we are in June Gloom) so I grabbed a pair of capri's that were pretty big on me pre-baby (and a size/size 1/2 bigger than I wore pre baby), I was lucky enough to get them up, but they were NO WHERE near buttoning.. "Luckily" my best friend has been on a weight loss journey so I told her what size I thought I would be right now (THREE sizes bigger than pre baby (if you just count sizes not numbers... if you count from number to number I'm SIX sizes bigger) and she gave me some old jeans she had...But it is totally depressing.

    Yeah... I haven't even tried my old pants yet.  I'm sticking to dresses and skirts right now.  What's really depressing is that most of my old t-shirts don't fit.  My boobs have apparently become their own entity.

    This for me too. I'm actually within about 5 lbs of my pre-pg weight, but apparently things have changed shape. A LOT. 

    First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09
    Then came a miscarriage March '11
    Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12

    Waiting on our second little peanut!

    Thank you for posting this - before we went to a friend's BBQ last night, I tried pants 2 sizes up from what I used to wear per pregnancy and not only did they not come close to buttoning, the whole act of trying to wiggle them on hurt my incision.  I have to go back to work in two months and I have no idea what I am going to do.  I hate the thought of buying a new wardrobe, and it's plain depressing:-(

    Yes I am wearing DHs shorts he sleeps in and have one pair of shorts I bought jean that are elastic waist that I wear. 

    Remember that your body changed shape a bit by making room for the baby the hips moved out etc you have to give time for everything to move back and it took 9 months to make the change in the first place.
