Just curious about mom vs dad looks.

Just out of curiosity. DH is 6'5" with blond hair and blue eyes, 100% Dutch. I have an olive skin tone, brown hair and eyes. DS has my skin tone and features with daddy's blond hair and blue eyes. Everyone keeps telling me his hair and eyes will turn dark. I hope they don't but looking back my brother's blond hair turned brown around two years old and his blue eyes turned hazel. Anyone have any idea why this happens or have a guess as to whether he'll keep those baby blues and blond locks?

    Well, I think I remember from biology class that all babies are born with some form of blue eyes, which change later.  The rest is all about genetics.  My very blond hair is still very blond,  but so is half my family.

    DH and I both have brown hair, he has aqua eyes, mine are more denim blue.  DD is still blond at 5 y/o and her eyes turned green at 4 y/o.  Anything can happen!

    DS1 age 7, DD age 5 and DS2 born 4/3/12

    Brown hair and eyes are dominant genes. So if you are the brownie and your DH is the blondie then chances are high that your baby will be a brownie or become a brownie. Many babies are born with light hair and eyes and skin that darken over time. By the age of around 3 years you can pretty much assume that their hair colour and eye colour have set.
