i know it's like, 3 months away. but since lil girl here is kicking me awake, i sat up and thought about it. my DD will be born early oct and she'll only be 2-3 weeks old by halloween, but since it's technically her first actual "holiday", i wanted to do at least a little something (even though she probably won't remember it or care for that matter, just humor me). any advice on something little and cute i can do with a newborn? obviously, she can't go trick or treating, let alone go out so it's limiting haha. thanks!

I remember seeing some really cute/funny newborn sleepers - like a cow print pj that says "udderly adorable" and comes with a little hat with cow horns etc.
There were a bunch at the Carter's store last year... I can't remember the others, but they were all pretty cute!
I'm due on Oct 3, and I just bought this costume for LO! I got it at a garage sale, and there was also a little giraffe costume, so I got that too, since they were only $1! I know it's silly, but I want to take pictures, and I'm going to take him "trick or treating" to his grandparents and aunts/uncles houses, not for candy, but just to show him off!
Coming from someone born on Halloween, I love looking back at pictures of first costumes my parents dressed me up in. I have a newspaper clipping of all the Halloween babies dressed up as pumpkins, courtesy of the hospital.
For my first birthday, my parents took adult things around the house...large sunglasses, a sheer scarf, metal shiny bracelets and a long plastic necklace.
Not sure if baby costumes were around in 1974, but I love them and thought it was hilarious!
My first Christmas, my parents wrapped me in Christmas paper and took a picture of me placed among the other gifts.

Check out etsy for crochet dragon hats. They seem to be a pretty popular item for newborn pics. My DD loves My Little Pony's so my idea was to have her go as a pony and her baby brother go as Spike the baby dragon.
Oooo yay! No one has suggested what I'm doing!
I'm having a boy, and my name for him (my husband is still coming around. I think in the end he will say okay...:P) is Joseph, nickname Joey.
I plan on getting a Moby, hopefully in the cream or brown color. I was thinking of getting a crocheted hat of a kangaroo for him and just some kind of ears like a kangaroo for me. I'd wear him and we'd be a kangaroo and joey (a play on his name). Hopefully this works out, because I think it would be adorable.
OMG! So cute!!! I love it, thanks for the suggestion
