Re: Um, this scares me

  • OMG. How can I make sure that no one anything like these people gets near me when I'm in labor?

No shit!!! Um, buy a gun? :-P

  • I had a complicated pregnancy and delivered at the hospital I didn't want to and it ended up being an amazing experience. Well, not the actual 30 hrs. of labor, emergency c-section and recovery, but the nurses were great! I really hope I am able to make it far along enough in this pregnancy to deliver at the same hospital. If not, I have to deliver at the much larger and less intimate hospital where I had a horrible hospital stay last pregnancy.

I guess it depends on each person and (sometimes) the people they know.  Don't worry about what this woman says. Unfortunately for her, she had a bad experience. And for the record, labor is not that bad--even after 30 hours--women have been doing it for thousands of years with NO drugs. Why do doctors suddenly think our bodies aren't able to handle it now?

  • Oh my DH would flip his SHIIT...SO would I but this would not be acceptable I would put a complaint in and never deliver there again

Okay, so if you could just follow me around until May and keep repeating things like that, I would feel a whole lot better... Crying

  • Wow!  That is horrible!  I had a great experience with the hospital I delivered at and if I had any complaints, it was they were coming in too much!  I feel so bad for that woman!

  • Sounds like that place is run by a bunch of morons. Scary.

  • I wonder where she lives.  Some of the words she used made me feel like she was in the UK.  Not that it really matters because no matter what country you live in there are bound to be some crappy hospitals and staff.   Maybe she delivered on crappy nurse day.

Everyone I've talked to that delived at my hospital loved it, hopefull I do too :o)  And DH works in healthcare, he is an administrator so he wouldn't put up with that sh*t for a second.

  • This really sucks but I have to say, I'm not that worried about it. I live in a fairly small town and there's really only one hospital to choose from. So its not like there's a nicer one on the other side of town. Also, all of our family lives nearby so if DH and I can't speak up for ourselves, they sure as hell will.
  • As an FYI... The person who posted that is a chronic complainer who would find fault with Mother Teresa.  She has been around forever and I think she is kind of fun, but I think if I had the exact same experience, it would sound totally different written up from my point of view.  She doesn't believe anyone is very smart or capable.

BTW... My birth experience was fabulous, easy, quick, and pleasent.   Just DH, myself, the doctor, nurse, and a ped for DD.  Very calm.  I cut the cord myself and pulled her out.  I have had a harder time getting over food poisoning than child birth.

Ditto. She's a fukking crackpot. I would not believe 99% of what comes out of her mouth. And for the pp who asked, she lives in Australia.
