I went to see our midwife today because I saw something covering the entrance to my vagina. Freaked me out BIG TIME. I thought I had uterine prolapse. Well, she examined me and told me that it looked like what I saw in my mirror was actually the posterior vaginal wall, that is sagging. She said that by my six week appointment all should be well, and it should correct itself. But to do kegels and to take it easy.
She assured me that my uterus and cervix were still high and intact.
Has anyone ever dealt with this, in the early post partum days? This news has really brought on the baby blues for me. Its hard to focus on anything but this.
Please offer any encouragement or advice that you may have. TIA.
Re: 6 days PP and sagging vaginal wall- need encouragement!!!
I was not brave enough to have a look down there any time near the delivery or post delivery process.
Maybe you don't need to look for a few weeks. Things will take some time to heal, let them have that time.
I had cervical prolapse the day following the birth of my now 2.75 years old son. It scared me. Within 24 hours of the prolapse I got an appointment with my back-up OB. He wasn't too worried about it at all. He advised me to do kegels, kegels, kegels. As far as I can tell my uterus/cervix when back to it's normal place by 6 weeks.
The following pregnancy I felt that because of the cervical prolapse episode, I was at a higher risk for uterine inversion. I did not want a home birth. I had the birth at a birth center.. That labor and delivery had no complications.
My advice take it easy and allow your body to go back to your pre-pregnancy state.

I don't know if it will help, but my MW advised limiting stairs for the first 2 weeks PP (preferably no stairs at all) The side to side motion in going up and down stairs supposed to not be good for the pelvic floor as it is coming up back to normal. Not sure if that will help with the vaginal wall, but I imagine so.
My mw told me no stairs at all for the first week, and the second week I could use them 1 time per day.
