sorry to butt in..

I haven't been on for a long time, but I need some advice. my ds has been crawling and pulling himself up for about a month and a half now. He's also been walking along things after he pulls himself up for about two weeks. I try to get him to walk with one hand on mine but he's still losing balance. Any balance strengthening activities that you know of?

Wow, he's a tough lil' guy! He's still young and is pretty ahead of the game, I wouldn't worry too much about his balance. I think all the practice on his own is probably the best thing for him and maybe keep trying to hold his hand. If he lacks the coordination,, that will mostly just take time as his coordination improves, so he may just not be ready for walking. You can do activities to strengthen his core though, which may help him be a little sturdier. Though, I wouldn't push it, he's moving along so well already and is definitely not behind.

My DS still isn't crawling (not the real crawling at least) but has been walking holding hands for the past month. At first he started with both hands but over time he wanted one hand free so he could grab things or what not. At first, he was very unsure about only holding one hand but has gotten lots better.

I think this is one of those "practice makes perfect" types of things.

I'd say relax and he'll figure it out in his own time! He is def WAY ahead of my DD who is 7 months and not crawling yet (and I'm happy to have her not mobile for as long as possible).

Be patient and he'll do it when he's ready
