uggggggghhhh so uncomfortable

ill be 41 weeks tomorrow and for teh past few days, i have been cramping like crazy like i have a really bad period. and then this morning i passed my mucus plug and a little bit of bloody show, wooot wooot. but ive been just so uncomfortable with all the cramping, my doctor said its not labor because theyre not regular or constant. but it's still like horrible discomfort. anybody else? or anybody know what the cramping is from?

    Sorry, cant give you any advice, but I can tell you that I will also be 41 weeks tomorrow and I also feel like my period is coming for the last couple of days. I keep hoping its prelabor, but nothing happens. Unfortunately, unlike you, I havent passed my mucus plug yet. So Im actually jealous :)

    I'm sorry you are overdue, I know how trying that can be. I agree you are not in "active labor" but don't discount the contractions you are having. You are making changes with those pains, just not consistant and frequent enough to warrant an admission. I think of it like this, you have to have a given number of contractions before that baby will come out. Lets say the number is 50,000 (really high, just go with it). If you have 10,000 before you are really "in labor" and it thins out your cervix and even dilates you 1 cm, thats 10,000 that you get to have with breaks between them.

    :) hope that makes you feel better. I was a labor nurse for 6 years and I was induced with my first. I am hoping to do what you are doing (slow latent labor over a few days before actually kicking into gear). I think its the best way! Good Luck!

    i hear you! ill be 41 weeks on wednesday, and i have an ultrasound scheduled that day to check on the baby; plus there will be a discussion with my dr about inducing me within the upcoming week. ugh!

    I passed my mucous plug last monday (the 11) into tuesday.....and have been having some contractions but nothing crazy that i thought i was going into labor. this is my first pregnancy as well. I have also been 1 cm dilated for the past two weeks, and still pretty much 100% effaced. hes just way to comfortable in there! I wish he knew how uncomforatble hes making me!

    im thinking the cramping is just more braxton hicks...... just more pronounced than weve probably noticed before... i just hope its soon! id much rather go into labor naturally than being induced.  good luck!
