Yet another nap question ...

Naps will probably forever confuse me but I can at least try to figure them out!

Anyways, if you did sleep training, did your LO wake up from naps early? DS wakes up after 45 minutes and he is always crying and upset when he wakes up. From what I've been reading, that's a sign that he is still tired. So I'm thinking he should go back down for a longer stretch. But if your LO woke up early, did they ever fall back asleep on their own? DS puts himself to sleep for naps and bedtime no problem. TIA!

Re: Yet another nap question ...

  • Most babies are able to fall back to sleep after sleep training, BUT it took 2 months for my LO to figure it out or should I say at least try to do it for naps.  He has always put him self back to sleep at night but naps are a whole other story!  He was a chronic 30 min napper for MONTHS!!!!  I just started to get two 1-1.5 hr naps and a 30 min catnap a day.  He still does the 30 min naps about once or twice a week and in that case he goes down for 4 naps.  Some baby's just take longer to figure out naps than others.  I'd say keep at it it will click one day! :) GL!

I do let LO fuss for a bit if he wakes at 30 min but if he's full on crying I know he won't go back to sleep for that nap.  SO we just put him down about 30 min. earlier for the next nap.  HTH
