Baby is transverse at 38 weeks...So upset

I went for an ultrasound today at 38 weeks and baby is completely sideways with her feet in my cervix.. my hopes for a successful VBAC are slowly going down the drain.. I'm looking into all options possible to get her to flip by next week... My dr's basically gave me no hope to get her to flip because they are estimating me to be 8lbs 14oz on the ultrasound ( my first DD was 9lbs 9.1oz ) Dr said I have a small pelvis ( which I don't understand HOW they can say that or even KNOW that ) And that a c-section is likely...

I am pretty upset... If she isn't flipped by Tuesday they want to do a c-section next Thursday.. I was bawling all day yesterday, and I'm still extremely upset... Seems like noone understand what I'm going though and they are basically telling me to give up and listen to the drs.. I won't do that but still...

UGH .... I want to lock myself away until my due date...

I'm so sorry. I would be devastated also. But, don't give up hope. My most baby was still rolling around last week (39+). It's not impossible for LO to get into position.

I would quickly try to find a chiropractor who is trained in the Webster technique. Mine claims to have very good results. Also, check out spinningbabies.com to look for other ways.

I think you'll at least feel a little better if you do everything in your power to move LO.

I've also been holding an ice pack to the top of my stomach (where my baby's head is) during my breech tilt. I find that my uterus is most loose right after swimming. Every night since finding out the baby has been breech (at my 36 week appointment) I've gone for a swim and then done another breech tilt with ice pack. I saw a chiropractor today and giving it the best try. Search on the ICPA site to find a Webster certified chiropractor.

Good luck. It's not too late. My OB told me she had a baby turn during labor one time. Try to stay positive. I am in the same boat and know how discouraging this can feel... just keep at it. I feel like I'm okay having the c/s if I know I did everything in my power to try to get the baby to turn.

Everything pps have said, plus acupuncture/moxibustion! Also, external versions are much more likely to work for 2nd time moms, so that is something you should ask your doctor about.

They can't know the size of your pelvis OR the actual size of your baby from ultrasound. It is all bs. They can guess the size of your baby, but they may be off by 2 lbs.

It doesn't even matter that your 1st was 9lb...I have a friend whose first was over 11 lb. Her second? 8lb 2 oz! You just never know.

Thanks everyone! My Chiro was websters Technique certified, I think the baby may be head down. Im finding her hb below my belly button instead of above and kicks to the ribs.. I pray anyway.. Ill keep you posted after my appt on Tuesday.
