29+4, water broke, cerclage removed

This past Tuesday morning, my world came to a screeching halt. I got out of bed to get my Godson breakfast and just as I put my pants on and walked to the bathroom, my water broke. I was rushed to the nearest hospital by ambulance even when I asked to be brought to the hospital where my high risk doctor is. They said it was too much of a risk and I had to go to the nearest hospital to see a doctor before I would be allowed to be transported any further. So about 4 hours after my water broke completely, I was transferred to the hospital where my high risk doctor is. He did an ultrasound and saw that my water did in fact break and I had nothing left. So he said our first goal was 48 hours. They started me on a magnesium IV with antibiotics every 4 hours. That magnesium is horrible HORRIBLE stuff! I felt like I was about to come out of my body. It felt like it was 100 degrees in my room, I kept vommiting..it was just awful. At that point when they started the mag, I was given another round of steroid injections. After 24 hours, they cut the mag back and gave me another shot. At 48 hours I was taken off of the mag completely. Thankfully! After that, I started having severe pain and my doctor took my cerclage out. At that point I was 1cm. I was still on IV antibiotics until this morning and now I'll be on oral. Cooper is being monitored about 4 times a day and he is doing fantastic.

At this point we wait until I go into labor on my own unless one of the following happens: I develop an infection, I reach 34 weeks, or I start bleeding and the baby becomes distressed in any way. My doctor however does not think I'll make it past 32 weeks, which is a little over 2 weeks away. Thankfully Cooper is perfect and has had 4 steroid injections already for his lungs so NICU time should be minimal. My emotions are at an all time high though. My husband has been here with me since Tuesday but he is leaving this afternoon to go home so he can return to work tomorrow. I am so sad that he is leaving but more afraid something will happen and he will not make it on time. Thankfully my mom is coming to take his place and we all know there is nobody like mom.

So that's it, we sit (well I lay) and wait. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated :o)

    Thoughts and prayers for you and your little boy.  Can only imagine how scary that was but sounds like you are under good care.

    Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate it!! So far he is still in there cookin. We'll be 30 weeks Wednesday and he is still doing fantastic. I still haven't been checked as far as dialation goes, but he doesn't want to too often because of the risk of infection, which I completely understand. My white blood cell count went up a little in 2 days, so they are really keeping a close eye on that. I guess if it goes past 20 then he will deliver. I am so thankful that I have made it almost a week. Each day goes by so fast thank goodness! Wednesday will make 10 weeks total on bedrest and tomorrow is 1 week in the hospital so far. DH will be coming back on Friday after work and I cannot wait. Momma is here and I love it, but I wish they could both be here lol. Thanks again everyone!! Oh, and I have totally prepared myself for a premie. I'm not nervous, I just know he'll get tons and tons of extra lovin ;o)

    Hang in there girl! Sounds like your little guy is doing great! I feel your pain on being in the hospital I'm here right now.. Currently 30 weeks, having contractions, reason for being here is on my biophysical test she wouldn't give them a strong leg:arm movement. We will know more in the morning and hopefully h e better news!
