Disney?

when do you plan on taking you LO's to Disney? Have you already?

We're planning for next year some time. I haven't been since 98 so I am over due!

Re: Disney?

  • We did disneyworld for our honeymoon in 2007. It was awesome!!! I can't wait to take them to Disney. Dh wants to wait until they are out of stroller-ville (around age 5/6). I'm thinking more around age 3/4.

  • My parents go to Disneyworld every year, and they are insisting on taking P for her first birthday next month...She won't remember anything and will likely be cranky and tired for most of it, but she only sees her grandparents once a year and they really wanted to do a week in Florida.

  • Well, mainly whenever her grandparents want to, but I would say when she is around 5 or so. I don't think she would enjoy or remember it before then.
  • When they're old enough to remember it...so 7-8ish if not older?

I didn't get to go until HS and it was great in a lot of ways.

I refuse to shell out that kind of cash on something my toddler will never remember...lol.

  • I was there 2 times.  The first time I was 5-6, and I don't remember it all that well, I went again when I was 12 and had a blast.  We definitely plan on taking LO, but not for a few more yrs so that he can enjoy it more.

  • We live in Orlando and take our 3 year old girl and 11 month old to the parks all the time. They love Magic Kingdom, Sea World, and Aquatica.
  • I'm not really worried about them not remembering it. Thats what pictures are for and there's stuff they will only want to do when they are little and will miss out on it when they're older. And you kind of live vicariously through your kids..at least I do. It's so great seeing how excited they get. We took the boys to Sesame Place last week and it was great seeing how excited that go over things.

We too will be going with my parents, other wise I wouldnt go. We wouldnt be able to enjoy the rides because there will still be a ton of rides they won't be able to do.

  • We went to WDW in December. I won't be going again anytime soon, and wouldn't suggest a trip to anyone else with young kids.

^^ This only we've just gone three times I think....  We live 20-25min away from Disneyland.  We want to do Disneyworld and a Disney Cruise once DD is older and school age so maybe 5-8.

It wasn't busy at all when we went. Even though we were there 8 days, and had 4 adults, hardly got do anything. Yeah, you can do the rider swap, but it still takes FOREVER. Kiddos are overwhelmed and overstimulated, and can get crabby (although that didn't happen with DD, but did with my 15 month old nephew).

  • We took her to Disney World in November, when she was just over 3 months old. But, it originally was just a trip planned with friends who have a couple little girls (5 and 7), and the trip was planned and partially booked before we ever even conceived. We went ahead and went anyway, and it was super fun and I'm glad we did. She was still at the age where she just slept all the time in her stroller, and she actually seemed to love the noise and kids and fireworks and even the characters she met.

I'll say this though. I wouldn't go again with young kids without another adult couple. If it had just been us and a baby, we would have had to do the adult rides separately.

I think for a future trip I will wait until both kids are out of the nap stage, or at least at the point where they could doze in the stroller when needed. Also, if they aren't tall enough for the adult rides, I would go with another family so we would be able to do some stuff without the kids if we wanted to.

I would love to go on one with Lena! We did one when I was 10 and it was so much fun. Probably when she is a bit older. Grammy promised Greece in the meantime, so I won't complain!

  • We are going in November. Low amounts of crowds and not super hot temperatures. Since DD's free and too little to really remember, we are bringing our 5 year old niece along. Had credit for a free stay at the Hyatt and airfare points that must be used by 12/31/2012.
