What is with SyFy movies?

According to them there's a lot of crossbreeding going on out there, I was just channel surfing and tonight they're playing Sharktopus and Piranhaconda - who comes up with this stuff?

Quasi related, why was it necessary to become SyFy, even that doesn't make sense.

    I like the channel, but sometimes they have a bad theme weekend. Chiller is an even better channel though. Can You Survive a Horror Movie? looks like it might be good which starts in July.

    That is some hilarious stuff in the middle of the night. Yet again I am thing of Big Bang where Leonard discusses the logo change. It is seefee now. 
    i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
