Anyone use any of the NMPG CNMs at Prentice? `

After asking my OB if I could have a natural labor in her practice, she said it was possible but easier if I use a midwife. They have midwives in their practice to it would be really easy to switch and she says any would be great. Their names are:

Ariel Derringer

Eileen Good

Carol Hirschfield

Amy Willettes

Julie Omar

Lia Moss

Any good/bad experiences? Would you use a CNM again? Thanks!

    I have a friend who delivered there under the care of the CNMs at Prentice.  She had a great experience during her prenatal care as well as her actual birth (she had a water birth).  My friend also hired a doula, not sure if that was part of the reason everything went so well...

    Don't know if you are still shopping around but Swedish is well known for being very pro-natural childbirth.  That's where I delivered and loved it!  The only drawback is they only do water labor, not water births.  Hope this helps!

    This is my 1st pregnancy but I've been w/ Carol for about 3 years now.  Since I got BFP I've seen some of the other midwives.  I love them all and have been more than satisfied with the care I receive from them.  I can't recommend the practice enough!

    The NMPG CNM's are very good... I've been with the OB practice for 15yrs and 8 pregnancies now and I'm very happy with them. 

     Beth Smith at OMG Women's Healthcare in Hinsdale is another CNM I would recommend highly.  Hinsdale hospital just opened a brand new women's tower that is absolutely lovely and has all of the amenities and more that Prentice offers without the expensive parking and "baby factory" atmosphere.  Just a thought...

    I go to Amy and I love her! Unfortunately, I ended up having to have an emergency c-seciton 2 weeks early because my fluid levels were low. I had a wonderful experience with the midwives throughout my entire pregnancy, and I will continue to go to their practice. I hope that when baby #2 comes along I'll be able to try a natural delivery. All of the CNM's at NMPG are great, and I would highly recommend any of them, except possibly Eileen only because she was a little less my style and more eccentric. Good luck!

    I used them.  Carol Hirshfield ended up delivering my daughter.  I LOVED them all and would use them again without a doubt.  I also switched over from the doctors they work with because my doctor suggested it.  Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.  :)
