NB "High"

DD will be 7 days old in a few minutes and we had a very desired HBAC  delivery. About 4 minutes before she was born her heart rate dropped very low (30's) but she came out pink and all was well. We did take her to the hospital to be checked out since she was just a little over 4 weeks early. Anyhow despite the super intense delivery and scaring my poor MW half to death,  I feel absolutely amazing but know I can't / won't likely feel this good forever. How long did the NB high last for you? I should be sleeping right now but the hormones won't let me. Ugh!

    I think I peaked right at 6 days then crashed hard on day 7. I was an emotional wreck from 7-9 days, and then I've felt fine ever since. Tired...irritable from BEING tired, but fine.

    It's usually 2 weeks of super high, one week of a slow crash and by week three I am exhausted.  But during that first two weeks I feel like superwoman - baking up a storm like June Cleaver, scrubbing my house, taking walks every day around the neighborhood.  Week three hits and I ask myself what the heck I was thinking not sleeping more while I actually had people around helping me with the kids.

    I barely slept and was an energizer bunny until about day 10. Then I was exhausted and an emotional mess. It lasted about a week or so, and I finally felt a bit normal.
