What sort of finger foods are you giving your non-blw babies? DD has been eating cereal and purees since 4.5 months. Someone mentioned that their DD was eating Cheerios too. Is anyone doing purees and finger foods? Which ones? Thanks!
DD has had pancakes and waffles. I've also given her a chunk of avocado to play with while I feed her it mashed up. She loves Mum Mums. She also loves to suck on watermelon. I hold onto a big slice of it and she just sucks all the water out of it.

I am going to try bananas today, but I have been hesitant to give him anything else just yet. He eats the puffs (just started with the pincher grip this week), teething biscuits (which are a horrible mess to clean up) and we tried the rice rusks but he hates them.

We have done the puffs, DS had pancake and blueberries for the first time this morning and loved it. I also have done meat as more of a finger food, along with plain pasta. Also try plain potato, sweet potato, and anything else that is soft.
Great, thanks! I gave her banana chunks (sliced and quartered) and she LOVED it this morning. She had no trouble picking it up and getting it to her mouth. So now I will be looking to give her similar sized bits of soft foods like potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, avocado... whatever she's already had. I just got some organic puffs on sale at Target this morning... will try those next. : )
DD has had puffs, yogurt melts, cheese, grapes (peeled and quartered), and banana, and avocado. The banana and avocado were really hard for her to pick up because they are so slippery so she ended up getting mad and squishing it lol. She would do fine if I handed it to her though.

We do the puffs and yogurt melts a lot. He also loves watermelon as well. I give him a slice with the rind still on so he can hold it himself. I am thinking of attempting Cheerios soon as well. He does really well with "chewing" before trying to swallow. He even tries to chew purees.

DS is 7 months, and we still do a lot of purees, he's not quite interested in non-purees yet. But he's tried cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, homemade sweet potatoe fries (I scooped out the inside and fed it to him), yogurt, hummus, chunks of avocado. We also have one of those little mesh baskets that you can put food in, kind of a precursor to them actually picking it up and eating food (which he won't do yet). Inside the mesh thing he's had strawberries, mangoes, watermelon.
I think around 8 months I'll start puffs and more "real" food.

For those who gave pancakes: did you cut them up small, or give LO the whole thing to gum?
DD has had pieces of banana, potato, and a roll (the moist part inside).
