Blood after ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and I saw the heartbeat and everything. The doctor had the wand in there for awhile because he had a new machine and wasn't as familiar with it and inputting the info, so he was up there with it a few times. This morning I wiped and had bright red blood on the tissue. Not too much I don't think. Do you think this is from the ultrasound or is this bad? I'm 8 weeks today.

    fyi, I already tried to contact my doctor, just waiting for him to get back to me and scared. Maybe this has happened before and it's no big deal...hoping

    I am guessing he just irritated your cervix which caused some bleeding. I bleed 5 times throughout my first trimester. If I had sex it would bleed or if my progesterone supplement got to close to my cervix it would bleed. Sounds like that is what is happening with you.

    it's probably normal... i've had quite a bit of spotting over the last couple of weeks, and it always has come after the possibility of an irritated cervix (sex, internal ultrasound, pap smear) and it always goes away.  the doctor has told me that it's all okay unless you are going through like a pad an hour.

    I had bright red blood right after my vaginal u/s and pelvic exam too. So I would think it's normal. But it's always best to speak with your doctor. Most of us are not doctors.

    Had the same thing happen after u/s.  Had bright red blood and I FREAKED OUT.  All was fine though.  Stay calm.
