Thoughts on the Ergo and hot weather?

I am planning to buy an Ergo, but I am wondering how you feel it does in warm weather?  I love my Moby, but want something with a back option and much cooler for summer.  It's a bonus is DH will wear it too!
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

Re: Thoughts on the Ergo and hot weather?

  • I can tolerate it if we're going somewhere shaded and theres a breeze.

When it's 90+ out, no breeze and minimal shade the last thing I want is a hot child pushed up against my body. I use the stroller when it's really warm. I will bring both and rotate back and forth.

  • Any kind of carrier is just too hot for me when it's above 70 degrees outside.  They're pressed up against your body and it's so sweaty.  How warm are we talking?
  • I dont mind mine if there is a breeze or if we are in the shade. But than again I am in san Diego and we haven't gotten that warm yet.

  • I don't mind it, but if you're really worried, the Ergo Performance is mucccch lighter and more breathable.

  • Thanks for the replies.  It can get to 100+ here in the summer, but I am thinking more 80's.  Much hotter than that and I don't see being out for long enough to need it or it being healthy for either of us.

  • I agree, the Ergo's material etc don't bother me (and we don't have the sport) but having a body up against mine always results in major sweating. However, I do prefer the Ergo to the Moby or other synthetic material wraps.

  • We have had some days so far like 95 and my Mai tei hasn't been too bad because of the breath ability of it with the open sides, and I know the ergo is set up similar. I'm worried about this summer because my ds hates the stroller, so hopefully he can get used to it cause I don't want him to over heat!

  • I've been wearing him in the Sport in 90+ degrees and it's not overwhelmingly hot for us.

  • I've done the Ergo in 90+ temps lately and it gets a bit warm but not unbearable.  I much prefer it to the Moby.

  • I got the Lillebaby sport which is similar to the Ergo but has more carrying options. The Sport version is VERY cool. I use this carrier and I live in Miami.
