Most sites online have a helpful list, or if you go to the store you'll probably get another one. Like pp said, there's a lot of useless stuff on them. You basically need things for baby to sleep with/in, BFing supplies if you're going to do that, carseat, stroller, crib, mattress, extra carseat bases if you're doing an infant carrier...
No list, we just walked around and if we needed it or wanted it we added it to the registry. After we were done we went back online and adjusted a little if we forgot something or decided we didnt want anything.?
Just try to put something on there for every price range. I never registered for any of the "fluff" with DD because I knew I would get it regardless. I would make sure you have everything you need for feeding, bathing, and transporting baby.
We "jumpstarted" our registry online. Most sites will have an option to jumpstart your registry, things that people typically request when having a baby. Then you can decide to go into the store or shop more online for anything else you definitely need/want. We went and walked around in the store for the remaining merchandise remember: Travel, Bathing, Feeding, Clothing, Health&Safety -- most people will opt to get the fun things for you during the shower or soon after baby arrives! Good luck!!
just registered today @ BRU n Target.. registered for big ticket items such as crib and stroller and then everything little in between from teething rings to crib sheets to diapers and wipes. but yes, they do provide a checklist for necessary items and some unnecessary items as well.. but they say to register for 2-3 items per shower guest so they have plenty to choose from.
BRU has a list online that I printed out. We don't plan on doing our registry until January, but the list was helpful in giving some idea of what we need.
Re: What's on your registry?
I don't have a registry yet. ?Ask, Jill, my due date twin, she's on top of this shiiiit!
The stores have checklists although I am sure they are loaded with crap you don't need. ??
I put stuff on my registry that I know I will actually need. Bottles, car seat, stroller, wipes, etc... They give you a checklist when you register.
I didn't add a lot of useless crap that looked cute because I'd rather have necesseties.
