I have a three day business trip to take the second week of July. I am looking for a small cooler to bring my milk back with on the plane. I was hoping to find something small, yet with wheels and an arm strap.
Does anyone have a cooler they can suggest?
Any tips for those who have flown with breast milk and a pump?
Thanks for any advice you ladies have!
Re: I have to fly - cooler and other questions
II use an over the shoulder six-pack size cooler to transport milk in while traveling, it holds a weeks worth of milk for me. I then put in the bottom of my roller bag that I carry on (take out and carry over shoulder for security).
I use the Play.tex bottle cooler with built in ice packs to store milk that I pump throughout the day while traveling. I keep that and my pump in my computer bag (I have a Freestyle pump and a Lands End tote style computer bag). I keep used pump parts in a plastic bag in my carry on - I use new parts for each pumping session rather than wash in airports. I do carry the Med.ela wipes in case I need to clean in a pinch.
I never use ice because it leaks, I use gel packs - I put six in my large cooler and the small cooler has built in ice packs. I've never had trouble with security for my pump, milk or gel packs and have taken 14+ trips while BF'ing, including international flights.
Have a great trip!
I have blog on the topic. I travel about 70% for work, and I've been pumping and traveling since LO was 11 weeks! The blog has a link to my favorite cooler and some tips.
