So has anyone ever used diapers(dot)com? You can buy everything from diapers, household, pet goods, and non perishables, get free two day shipping and have it delivered to your house. They even carry our sensitive tummy pet food we use...
Is it worth paying full price for things for the convenience or not having to go out and get it? I can see this when LO just comes home but you earn points towards discounts etc. Not sure how it all works.
I am trying to fumble through all of this as two FTMs. We aren't going to do any purchases until we are at least 13 weeks but I am a planner so I am doing my research now. How did you stock up before LO came? Any websites or methods you ladies have used would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance ladies!
Re: Tips from Moms?
I think what I am most overwhelmed by is all the stupid lists of things you must have. I feel like companies put things on there that you will never need just to get you to spend the $$$$.
Does anyone know a more minimal list out there? And what items were life savers vs never used?
TIA!!!!!!!

Diapersdot com has the best baby registry (that I found). For every 500 you spend, they give you 50 towards future purchases. We bought all of our most expensive items (car seats, strollers, monitors, organic mattress, etc.) through them, with free shipping, and had items listed for our shower and we got.. a lot.. for free. Probably $300 or so. You'd be surprised how fast it adds up.
That said, we cloth diaper so we only bought nondiapering things. (ironically)
I am so interested in cloth diapering. I am just not sure where to start. I was thinking about ordering a few brands gently used and figuring out if it was something we liked and what brand. This way I don't invest in one kind only to find they don't fit very well or I don't like them.
Do you have any suggestions?

Welcome to the world of "countdown to baby!!" So excited for you. In response to being overwhelmed, here is what I can say having just been there:
Do as much research as you WANT to do. Especially in the first trimester (when there's not much actual DOING that has to happen), I loved doing research and prepping and dreaming, etc. But, know that millions of people have done this research and had babies, so you don't HAVE to do it. At some point, if you get frustrated/overwhelmed/busy, you can say "Forget it, a bib is a bib is a bib." Because, in the end, it's true.
And, for everything else...there's the Bump. Ask for product suggestions on the Baby 0-3/3-6/etc month board, you'll get a bunch of responses from people who are actually using the products at that very moment.
Think about the items you REALLY care about (is it a carrier? is it the car seat?) and research those to your heart's content...and let the internet do the rest for you.
For me, my Top 5 Can't Live Without When Living With a Newborn:
Boppy
Playmat (we have Fisher Price Discover N Grow Piano Gym..I'm sure they're all great)
Beco Baby Carrier (long walks and trips) and Baby K'tan Carrier (around the house, short walks)
Rock N Play (if your baby has reflux, you'll want this incline right away)
White Noise Machine ($25 from Target to play all night long)
Everyone will have a different top 5, of course:)
As for a minimal list, we just used the Babies R Us list and crossed out the things we didn't think were necessary...but bumpies can help with that, too.
Congrats and happy researching!
Thank you so much ladies!!! All of this information is way helpful. I love to take the minimalist approach to things so I will definitely check out the baby bargains. Also thank you so much to everyone else that offered their list of must haves.
The cloth diaper FAQ was very informative as well. It makes me feel a little less intimated by the process and hopeful that I can convince SO to jump on board.

Hi there! Diapers.com is pretty cool for the free shipping, and the affiliated sites for household items, pet products and toys are nice as well. I've used them all at one time or another, but that was mostly pre-baby and during her early months, simply due to convenience. Cons - few promo's and discounts on most items, i can usually find it elsewhere for cheaper, although it's always worth checking them out as they always have surprising item for less.
Otherwise, diapers.com is also great for reading reviews of cloth diaper brands and styles - i was actually introduced to cloth diapering on their site while browsing, although i've never bought a diaper from them. For cloth diapering advice and info, i'd say try to read as many different types of guides geared to different types of cloth diapering. Some focus more on eco friendliness, ease of use, or budget, while others delve into more specific things that one wouldn't think to note until their baby turns out to be allergic to micro fleece, or a heavy wetter. After months of research and trail and error, I've come to love the Kawaii diapers and eco sprouts detergent, and i'm a loyal shopper at sweetbottomsbaby.com. My only advice - find a site or brand that you trust so that when it comes to trying new things down the line, you know the products are of the best quality for you and your family without having to spend any unnecessary time researching
