So, I have been trying to get DD to drink WCM for about a month now. She still nurses 2 times a day, but I know she needs more than that. She is a GREAT eater. She will eat almost anything, prefers to feed herself, and does a good job. She has a yogurt every day, so that's some calcium and good fats. Does anyone have suggestions? She doesn't do a bottle, only a sippy or straw cup. I've tried it other temperatures and even put Hershey's chocolate in it this morning

Takes a couple of sips and is done. Any suggestions are welcome
Re: DD won't drink milk
I BF my son until he was 13 months and after I stopped he would not drink cow's milk. I always just gave him a yogurt everyday and put it in his cereal. He is now 17 months and I can finally get him to drink about 8oz a day. I also tried putting the Hershey's in his milk too and he was not interested! He also likes the yogurt fruit drinks. I always just pushed the other dairy products- cheese, yogurt, pudding (made with milk) and made sure he had water to drink. Hopefully she will start liking milk eventually as my son did. Good luck!
You tried chocolate syrup-how about vanilla or strawberry flavor?
If that doesn't work, I wouldn't worry too much as long as her diet is full of good fats/calcium/vitamin D.
OP - at least your LO will drink 8oz! I give my LO some milk, he takes one sip & just opens his mouth & lets it dribble out. >.< so frustrating.
We've tried just having his grandparents give him milk while i'm not around, still no go. he wouldn't take the mix of BM with reg milk, so that was a no go as well.
GAH!
Mine won't drink milk either. I tired coconut milk though and I'm going to try almond milk next. Until then I just make sure to give her at least cheese everyday and I do give her yogurt as well but it hurts her tummy if I give it to her everyday. Just keep trying I'm sure that if you continue to wean her she will start to warm up to cow's milk.
They have these YoBaby drinkable yogurts. Sometimes when I'm on the go, I put one in a sippy cup for DS. He loves milk, but if I think he might be hungry or needs a snack on the go, it's great. If I were you, I would put one of these drinkable yogurts in her cup. Then I would slowly convert it to milk. Like do a whole drinkable yogurt the first time. Then the 2nd time, do a little bit of cows milk in there with it. Then slowly wean her just onto the milk.
I dunno, that's what I'd try. They need the milk for bone building! Drink, babies, drink!

E won't drink WCM, Lactaid or Almond Milk.
I haven't tried chocolate milk, though.
DS was similar when he was weaning. Another bumpie suggsted trying a little juice mixed in (we used apple, and just a splash or two), and it worked like a charm! We only had to add juice (and not very much) for about 2-3 weeks before he started drinking WCM without it. I think the bumpie that suggested this method used orange juice. FWIW, DS does not get juice regularly (his grandparents give him some occasionally), so that may have had something to do with it. GL!
Not true. They do not need cows milk for bone building. They need calcium for bone building. Calcium can come frm a variety of sources. Breast milk, cheese, yogurt, even some vegetables and calcium-enriched products like breads an orange juice.
If your kid does not like milk - mine doesn't either - then look into other calcium sources and don't stress about it.
