Trying induction, again

Hi all, I'm a longtime lurker on this board (hi, everyone!) and my situation has been a little weird and I thought I'd post about it.

My blood pressure was way up around 35/36 weeks and I ended up in the hospital on bedrest with the expectation that I'd be induced at 37 weeks. Luckily my protein in my urine wasn't that bad and it went down the second time I did the urine test and my BP went down somewhat in the hospital. I was discharged after two days and have been at home on bedrest since. I was also put on a low dose of a beta blocker as well.

I was switched from my midwife to the OB  and had to come in for lots of BP checks and NSTs. At 38.5 weeks my OB wanted to induce because of concerns about how my BP would do during labor. But, he agreed that if I didn't progress we could punt and send me home. So, last Sunday I was admitted and they started Cytotec to try and soften my cervix (dilated only a fingertip, somewhat effaced). They did several doses and I had regular contractions, but didn't dilate much. On Tuesday morning I said I was ready to go home. They wanted me to come back and do it again on Wednesday night, but it was tiring and difficult being in the hospital, on near constant monitoring, getting checked, getting IV fluids, that we asked to wait until this Sunday.

So, we're back this Sunday, only three days before my due date. We're doing what we can to move things along, walking and having s*x. I was checked again today and am more effaced but not more dilated. I'm really hoping to avoid a c-section, so hopefully my body will take to the induction.

Anyways, we're so ready for our little one to be here! We don't know if it's a boy or a girl and I'm so CURIOUS!!
