I'm not ever very good at thinking of gifts for either of my parents. They don't really "need" anything. This year, I might pick up an ice pack with a velcro strap for my dad because his knee has been bothering him and he usually just uses bags of ice that fall all over the place. Not very sentimental, though. Either that or a book.
What are you ladies doing? Do you still get your dad a gift for father's day?
Re: What are you doing for YOUR dad for Father's day?
This is so corny, but right up my dad's alley. I made two baseball shirts that say "POP POP" and "YAYA" on the back (their grandparent names). I put their favorite numbers. I havent done anything with the front, but I have an idea. My dad and SM ALWAYS match their outfits, so I think they'll like this...
ETA: I also baked him some chocolate chip cookies. And for Mother's Day, I made a matching set of chalkboard mugs, which I told him one was an early Fday present. I'm a crappy gift giver generally, but I'm getting better.
We're having a BBQ at my brother's house.
As for a gift, I usually get him something Harley-related. I just came back from a work trip to Tampa and I picked him up a Tampa Harley Dealership shirt.
I pick them up whenever I travel and save them for a holiday. So far I've gotten him shirts from Dublin, Ireland, Mexico, Las Vegas, Orlando, South Carolina, Houston, and Denver. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them. He really likes them and they are usually only like $30, so it's a win-win.
I actually have a good gift this year! I mentioned in previous posts that my parents just bought a foreclosed lake house. My dad has been working really hard to make it nice. I got this sign customized through Etsy. I think it captures exactly what my dad hopes for with this house. Me and my 3 siblings are giving it as a group gift. I really think that my dad's going to love it!

Yea, my dad is the same. He has some hobbies, like cycling, but he already has everything he needs for that. I think a card and an ice pack it is! haha

Giving him a framed picture of Kevin, Audrey and me with Nolan Ryan. We got to meet him right before playoffs last year. My dad has been a Ranger fan since their beginning. He has always watched them win or lose. And believe, up until recently, there was A LOT more losing than winning.
My dad is actually where I get my extreme loyalty/devotion from. That's how he has always been. In my mind, there is no other way. When I love something/someone, I do so 100%.
Aww, that's a sweet gift. And what a wonderful value to instill in a child. I know my husband has seen many years of 49er losses (since the glory years when we were kids) and he will always be loyal to them. Hopefully this will translate to DS in other facets like it has with you.
