I registered my daughter for pre-school back in April. The preschool is a popular local one and well-known, but we don't have crazy competition for registration or "testing" or anything like that, thank goodness. I wanted to sign her up just after the open house events as I know the classes do fill up.
Anyway, I heard NOTHING from them. I e-mailed in late May to make sure they got the registration and got a response back that yes, she was signed up, and they would send out info in the next couple of weeks. Still nothing! I think this is weird. I want to follow-up again next week. Does this make me seem like a crazy parent, or would you do the same?
I don't have any info yet on when the actual first day is, when the welcome/orientation day is, etc, and I think it starts in early September. We're already making plans for early September and I have work events to schedule, too.
I'm really annoyed. I know people love this preschool and I really liked it, too, but I think it's terrible service and bad marketing to do no follow-up on a registration! Especially when you know that going to pre-school can be a a big deal for kids and their families.
Re: Pre-school registration--annoyed. Is this odd?
We didn't get DS's preschool packet of info until late July last year. Registration was in March. You had to register in person so we knew he was fully registered. His info packet had a ton of forms that needed to be filled out, a preschool handbook, school calender, and info about orientation.
Just call the school and ask them when orientation is and what's the first day of school. Tell them you want to make sure you're not on vacation since you don't want to miss it.
