Hotslings? Thoughts and opinions?

I'm new to bw and so far have been using a K'tan. Baby steals has hot slings in sale and thought it was a good deal. Has anyone used them? DS is still needing some head support. He is 3months and 15idh pounds. Is it something that as he gets bigger will be really uncomfortable? Thanks

  • My mother had given me one of these.  I didn't like it as a newborn at all.  I did use it a lot around the ages of 5-7 months, when he could hold his head up and kind of sit in it.  We walked all over Branson using it; it's pretty comfortable.  Edit:  After about 7 months, he was just way to big for it to work properly.  It might have something to do with MY size, but I didn't like it after that.  My Moby was my favorite by far.

How long were you able to comfortably and securely use your Moby with your LO?  I really like mine and am nervous that I won't be able to use it for much longer based on what others are saying.

  • The Hotsling was my first (of many!) carriers. I used it when DS was a newborn, although looking back I realize my technique was terrible. It became really useful around 3-4 months, and I still use it very occasionally for a short period of time. DS is 3 yrs and 32lb. I wouldn't want the HS to be my only carrier, but it's a fantastic secondary carrier to stash in the car or roll up and keep in the diaper bag.

I love the Moby for little babies and can't wait to wrap our new little squish in it. I used it with DS until 11mo and 20ish lb but ideally I'd switch to something more supportive around 15lb. I imagine we'll have DD in a woven sometime between 3-4 months.
