If this turns too heated we can delete the thread, but I am watching I Didn't Know I was pregnant" right now and want your ladies take on this. And I am jsut wondering how many of these stories are BS. I watched one with a women not much bigger than me who had twins, then one of a 90LB women who didn't know she was preggo with a 7LB baby in her. Being that we all feel so many symptoms already, can you imagine not knowing till full term?

I can't speak to the individual stories, and I'm not watching it now, but I think it is possible for some people. I had very few symptoms with DD and wouldn't have known if we hadn't been trying. What I wouldn't have been able to miss, though, were her kicks starting at about 22 weeks or so. However, from what I've heard from other people, she was a very active baby, and there are some babies that really just don't kick much, so you could confuse it with occasional gas pain.
Probably not every story is legit, but I bet some of them are. I also find the ones with the skinny women the hardest to believe :-)

A not so active baby could make sense under ther gith circumstances. But these 90lb women, I just look at them like..uhh huhhh lol

I agree with kelly.
Also, I knew a woman who didn't find out she was pregnant until she was already 7 months. That's pretty long!
Every pregnancy is different and while most of us are feeling (reveling in, even?) whatever syptoms we might have, the fact is most pregnancy symptoms can also be attributed to other things and if you aren't expecting to get pregnant it is probably possible.

I know someone who was on that show. I used to work with her actually. I didn't even know she was going to be on the show until I turned it on one night and she was on the screen. I called my friend (who had also worked with her) and she confirmed that it was her. I didn't have any contact with her when all of this was going on so I can't tell you whether I believe her story or not but what made it even crazier is that she had a son who was around 8 or 9 at the time so she had experienced being pregnant before. So strange!
My next question: if it's not true surely the show would research it before airing it, right? And if it's not true there would have to be doctor's visits unless the woman found out and told no one in hopes of being on the show.
Sadly, I bet there are people in the world who would do that.
ETA: Wait, that's all classified so I guess they wouldn't know. Nevermind.

Totally, i used to think it was total BS until my friend explained her moms pregnancy to me. She didnt know until she was 4 months.
Well, there's NO WAY I'll ever get to be on that show. I weighed 100 pounds before all of my pregnancies, and gained 35-38 pounds with each one. I felt huge by the time I was 35 weeks, so I can't fathom not knowing.
I'm guessing some of the women featured on that show had medical problems that they thought were causing their symptoms. Plus, the position of the placenta can make it difficult to feel movement. So, if you have a woman who doesn't gain much weight during pregnancy, or a woman whose weight fluctuates, an inactive baby and an anterior (?) placenta, I guess you could potentially have someone who doesn't know they're pregnant.
