Hi,
I am a FTM and am 39w 3days, so I think I should have considered this long before now...
I am still going to work, roughly 20min from home and will probably continue to until LO decides its time or I can't stand it anymore. DH works 1 hour from home (sometimes further when he is out in the field... without cell service...). If I start having contractions at work, at what point should I go home??? I have no idea if you can even drive with moderate contractions. The random ones I have experinced I have been continue what I was doing at the time.
Any suggestions on when to call DH too??? He has been very anxious these past couple of weeks and asks me anytime I cringe, when LO hits a particular nerve cluster, if it is time to start timing. I don't want to worry him too much. I actually believe the waiting has been harder on him than me. Everytime we go out, he packs the car as if we are going to the hospital, even if it is a quick run to get the pizza I was craving all day... I let him do it becuase I think it makes him feel better.
Also, I heard from a coworker that his wife could only have the green popsicles while in labor. Anyone have any idea why that would be or if that is common practice in most hopsitals? The hospital I hopfully will be delivering at does allow the consumption of popsicles while in labor, but didn't mention anything about only green or anything but green.
Re: Timing (not contractions) and green popsicles
Never heard of the popsicle thing...
But I would say if you have having about 30 min of contractions you should probably head home... even if false labor its better to be safe than sorry.
And how do you plan to get a hold of DH if he has no service?! Is he checking in every hour? What is your plan?
