Babies: 0 - 3 Months

NB rescesitation

I just got yet another bill in the mail yesterday for my delivery.  I am a bit confused though.... It says that DS is the patient , it is dated on his birth day, and says NB Rescesitation.  Does any one know what that means?  I googled the code and it talks about chest compressions or venilation.  Could be 1 of 3 things:

1. Wrong coding

2. I am misunderstanding the coding

3. There was something wrong with my child at birth and no one ever told me.

What do you think?  Is ths a normal coding for a c section?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but it could be something as simple as them putting the mask on for a couple seconds. Not all babies breathe on their own as soon as they are born. It's not something they would view as a complication, or to worry you about, it just happens.

I received the same thing for my DS.  I asked DH and he said he didn't remember anything going wrong, but I did have a c-section.  Perhaps it's something they perform for c-section babies.

Whatever it was, they are charging 380.00 for it. :(

  • NB resucitation is anything and everything from the measures they take with you, oxygen, turning to left side and decreasing/increasing Pitocin to measures with baby...oxygen, suctioning.....etc.
