Inducing lactation?

Hey all!  Wife and I are expecting another baby in October.  I've heard of people trying to induce lactation.  Has anyone had any experience with this/know of any success stories?  I am thinking of trying to do it since I stay at home with the baby now.  My wife will nurse, but she works, so it might be handy if 2 of us can nurse.  I don't know.  Any insight is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

  • Thanks so much!  I really want to try it, but just want to know if it works before putting all of the effort in lol

We've also looked into it, but some of what I've read says that it is very hard for two women to maintain an adequate supply with only one baby.  I'll look for the documentation tonight or this weekend.

    • Sure, the first thing they will need is a hospital grade breast pump

    • then they will need to start taking fenugreek

    • and blessed thistle ....

    • they will need to take these supplements every day

    • the pumping will need to start three months prior to babys arrival

    • the pumping protocol is this...

    • pump 5 times a day for 10 minutes each sitting

    • if by three months there is no milk, she will need to take medication

    • oh and she must drink the mothers milk tee
    • three times a day
    • its a daunting task but baby it works!
    • her breasts will get full for sure and its important that her nipples receive a lot of stimulation
    • she must rough those nipples up and make them big
    • the pumping, pulling and the breast shields will help w/ that for sure.
    • the breast shields help w/ pull the nipple out to make it extra big. something only pregnant mammas experience because of their hormones

Oi, sorry to bother you!  Could you ask how much of the fenugreek and blessed thistle she took?  If it is going to take me 3 months then I need to start in July.  I wish I could just like try really hard and make milk lol
