Well, doctor has decided that 40 + 5 days is long enough for baby boy and given him his marching orders. She did do a sweep on me today so I'm really hoping and praying that I go into labor naturally tonight, but it's doubtful. I'm still only 1.5cm and maybe 60% effaced. I'm booked in for an induction tomorrow night at 8 p.m. when they'll insert the cervadil and then start me on pitocin Friday morning. I'm feeling a little disappointed because I really didn't want to be induced. I had hoped for a completely med-free birth this time. Part of me still hopes I might be able to manage labor without an epidural but I don't know. I've heard such horror stories about pitocin contractions. Anybody get through it without?

I did. My induction was similar to yours - cytotec overnight then pit in the morning. My nurses & MW were awesome. In the morning I got to take a shower & eat breakfast before they started the pit. They started the pit low & upped it every 30min. I had to be on the monitors but was able to get up and move. They offered to break my water once I got over 3cm & baby had dropped some but I declined & 30 min later it broke on its own. After it broke they turned off the pit & let me go on my own. I was able to labor in the tub, only have intermittent monitoring, and no more IV. The pit contractions are tough but it is possible. Good luck!
Well my water broke at home at about 6:30am, I didnt have ANY contractions until they started the Pitocin at about 10am. By about 3-3:30pm my contractions were so bad that I gave up and got the epi. The Pitocin had them coming back to back to where I couldnt even catch a breath in between. I dont know how you ladies do it natural...Thumbs up to all of you, cuz I gave up LOL I have no shame
THANK GOD FOR EPIDURALS!
